second part of our book covers project that will lead into next year is to create a series of book covers. the choice was between James Bond, HP Lovecraft and Mills & Boon. obviously i picked mills & boon. i've not read any of the stories but sometimes the title and synopsis is enough.

this is for a project at school, i have not ACTUALLY done a book cover for penguin. that would me mental. and i probably would've done something alot less shit but whatever here it is. we had to come up with a few rough ideas and then had a group crit to pick the one to develop into the cover.
it's for the short story Scale by Will Self. it's done with rubber stamps. i think its pretty whack.

scans from sketchbook from a recent trip to the pitt rivers museum, oxford. they've got some pretty sick shrunken heads and skulls and weird religious ephemera and just generally loads of nuts stuff. its pretty good. plus they have dinosaur and elephant skeletons and that. and its free. shame its in oxford. the brief was using the ideals we set out in our manifesto and for our society, create a one minute film or animation that summed up or introduced or documented that society.
mine is basically taking the idea that our 'society' was ruled by the amount of people within it. therefore, the more people join the society in my film, the longer it takes to get to them i.e-7 people = 7 seconds. it shows the expansion and retraction of our society should people join or leave. also there are 7 people in the film and it comes to a total of 49 seconds. freaky.

i get abit paranoid when things aren't mega finalised that if i get all excited about it and tell people they'll all end up not materialising and i'll look like a berk. which is why before i didn't mention that this dude Laurence who's setting up the donald trump and the planets exhibition asked if i could submit a copy of Wok N Roll #4 and the big owl drawing i did for Last Hours to be included in the other room at the exhibition. which is pretty rad. sent all the stuff off today.
ALSO SEE ABOVE. 22nd of may, keep your diaries open. me and sammy (craven) are DJing at the redstar in camberwell. neither of us have djed before but we will play some absolute classics for real. here's the flyer sam did (i dun the lettering). exciting.
something else even MORE exciting in the pipeline, but will keep shh about that for now.
